PowerStore REST API

PowerStore Management REST API is a set of resources (objects), operations, and attributes that provide interactive, scripted, and programmatic management control of the PowerStore cluster.

Authorization

By default, PowerStore has two user accounts:

  • admin - The default admin account is assigned the Administrator role. You can use this account to create additional accounts to enable user access.
  • service - The default service account is assigned a role for performing service and troubleshooting-related functions. This is a unique account. You cannot create additional service user accounts. The service account is not included in the users list in Settings > Users.

Note

You cannot use the service account to log into PowerStore Manager.

In PowerStore Manager, five roles are defined:

  • Administrator - The most privileged role and can perform all operations
  • Storage Administrator - can perform all operations except for local user account viewing and modification.
    -** Security Administrator** - can only perform local user account viewing and modification
  • VM Administrator - can connect to vCenter and view system storage information through a vCenter server that is connected to the system’s VASA provider
  • Operator - can only view system settings, status, and performance information

Note

If a “403 Forbidden” authorization error is returned for a response, the role of the authenticated user does not have the privilege required to perform the requested operation.
